Monster on Cork’s horizon

Monster Motorcycle showNext weekend sees the welcome return of the Monster Motorcycle Show to county Cork.

We’re proud a delighted to report that Principal Insurance are once again backing this beautiful beast of an event.

If you’ll pardon the pun it’s a real corker which is expected to attract over 10,000 Irish motorcycling enthusiasts.

There’s more to see than you can shake an oily dipstick at.

Organisers the Cork Motorcycle Racing & Vintage Club have pulled together the tastiest of motorcycling menus.

Fresh metal and much more

Indoors on Sunday March 8th, the 30,000 sq. ft venue at Carrigtwohill’s Fota Retail Park will be jam-packed with the freshest metal, accessories, leathers and clothing.

There will also be an array of club stands and both vintage and custom bike displays upon which to feast your eyes.

There’s going to be plenty of live action outdoors, with displays from Youghals Trials Club and riders from the Southern Pitbike Series.

Riders line up

The line-up of acclaimed riders set to attend is also something to behold.

Monster Motorcycle show guest Jack kennedyAmong those on the celebrity grid will be double BSB Supersport champ, Jack Kennedy who is himself familiar with Principal Insurance having officially opened our Dublin offices back in the day.

Caolán Irwin, whom Principal Insurance sponsored last year, is also dropping by. Caolán was, of course, Young Rider of the Year in the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship which was also Principal-backed. In fact we are one of the series’ longest-standing sponsors having supported the Masters since 2016.

There are more Irwins set to appear with Honda UK’s Glenn and Andrew heading over, accompanied by their brother and multiple British motocross champion, Graeme.

A host of stars from the domestic and international road race scene have also been booked . They include Micko Sweeney, Liam Chawke, Mike Browne, Ray Casey and Brian McCormack.

There’s some tasty pre-show action to be had too. Acclaimed motosport photographer Stephen Davison will be showcasing his talent with a special slideshow at Midleton Park Hotel. Some of the show’s road racing guests will also be swapping tales from the tarmac on what promises to be a fun night.

Naturally, as show sponsors the Principal bike insurance team will also be out and about in Carrigtwohill. If you plan to come – and you surely should – don’t forget to drop by our stand. The gang will be happy to chat about you and your bike and answer any questions you might have about insuring your machine (or machines – yes we do multi bike insurance!).

As if this magnificent array of bikes and biking talent weren’t enough to tempt you, tickets are a snap. Entry to the Monster Motorcycle Show costs just €10 – doors open at 10am – with the Saturday night event costing the same tiny sum. You can pay on the door for both.

We look forward to seeing you there!
