I recently went to an entirely different country on a motorcycle.
Little did I realise that I’d forgotten to bring any shoes.
This was because I travelled on a motorcycle, so when I turned up, I was in a situation where I either wandered about in my socks or a pair of waterproof motorcycle boots.
That’s when I found a pair of Richa motorcycle sneakers.
They’re not sneakers in the conventional sense, they’re an over-the-ankle affair, rather like an iconic American brand that rhymes with ‘ronverse’.
So, they look the part.
Indeed they look the part so well that they made me look a lot younger and socially aware. That last bit is a joke, I’m where I am and I’m not going to be a better person anytime soon…
Anyway, moving along….
They’re closed with a conventional set of laces, there’s even a spare set in the box, and as such they fit perfectly; “Over, under, around and through. Meet Mr Bunny Rabbit, pull and through”. I’m sure you remember how.
The pull strap heels are a nice touch, but I am a tad concerned that I’ve reached a point in my life where I find them so helpful.
My feet were now safely wrapped in a pair of the company’s Lewis WP motorcycle sneakers.
These are a good piece of kit. They’re made with full-grain leather which has a very effective waterproof membrane.
While they look like nothing at all, the soles are very clever.
T
he rubber is designed to be comfortable as well as weather resistant. This means not slipping on shiny surfaces.
Add a set of EVA midsoles and my grip on the pegs was good enough to be something that I forgot about.
But I’m still wearing trainers on a motorcycle? No, I’m not, because these are motorcycle sneakers fitted with built-in D3O protection. They are such a good piece of biking kit that they have a CE cert.
If you’d like to look nearly as young and cool as I do, then call in to BikeWorld and talk to Ray or any of the team about the Richa range.
