LS2 gives heads up to Aldeguer
Riding for Gresini Racing to make his MotoGP debut last year, Fermín Aldeguer made quite the impression, notching up both sprint and race wins at the Bugatti Circuit.
A second podium at Spielberg and a win in Indonesia, cemented his reputation as one to watch.
LS2 has eyes on the young rider, having produced a replica of its flagship lid in his honour.
Spanish rider, Fermín Aldeguer had an outstanding season in MotoGP last year and big things are expected of him in this year’s championship.
To celebrate LS2 have made a replica graphic for their Thunder GP Aero carbon helmet.
It’s an impressive lid made on a 6K carbon twill shell.
It’s incredibly light, weighing just 1300 grams.
In keeping with the rider who’s being honoured and where he uses his helmet, it comes with a spare tinted visor, is prepared for tear-offs and both visors are pinlock ready.
There’s a Pinlock 120XLT MaxVision Anti-Fog System included in the box.
The lid’s been independently certified to ECE 22.06 and is ACU Gold approved for competition use.
Shell suits
The Thunder GP is one of LS2’s most technically advanced helmets.
They’ve put a lot of effort into that carbon twill shell which is made to promote energy dispersion and is well-rated when it comes to resisting penetration.
The spoiler on the back is designed for racing and does a very good job of keeping the riders head steady at speeds.
If it all goes horribly wrong there’s an Emergency Release System. This allows the medics to take out the cheek pads without putting any pressure on the face or neck. Always helpful after headbutting an Audi. It’s kept in place with a reinforced double d-ring strap.
The hypoallergenic comfort liner is removable, washable and breathable. The fit is great with cleverly laser cut cheek pads.

The visor aperture is really wide
This allows for great peripheral vision and is fitted with a visor which uses the company’s tool free removal system.
A set of vents let the cool air in. The ones in the chin, the forehead and the crown feed cool air through the helmets interior channels and allows the hot air to depart through a set of rear ports.
These are good sized and as well as being functional. They also look really cool!
If you ride on the road and have yet to understand the concept of ‘me time’ then you’ll be delighted to learn that LS2’s own Spectrum Intercom system can be fitted with ease.
Produced in three outer shell sizes, it comes with its own backpack and is available from dealers across the country.
