Spanish manufacturer Reiju is set to spice up the adventure bike market, the company’s range having now landed on our shores.
Spanish people know a thing or two about motorcycling.
Marc Márquez, Jorge Martín, Pedro Acosta are just a few of the big names in the world of motorcycling.
Then there’s the fact that northern Europeans descend on the country in their thousands every year to tour, ride trails and attend the numerous MotoGP and WSB race meetings.
So it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that Spain is also home to a very significant manufacturer; Reiju Motorcycles.
Now the company has made it all the way from the Iberian peninsula to Ballymount. Megabikes to be more precise.
Ready for an Aventura? There are a number of bikes in the range, including a two stroke 300cc motocross bike, as well as more conventional adventure style bikes which are designed to be ridden on the trails.
They’re now in stock with the new Aventura Rally 307 being the first one to be added to the demonstrator fleet.
As the engine is a 293 cc 4-stroke single-cylinder affair, it’s as accessible to the newcomer as it is to the seasoned rider who knows that bigger isn’t always better
Because it’s so light – at 137kg – producing 33.5bhp and 27 Nm of torque gives it a hell of a power-to-weight ratio.
This promises to make it a usable trail bike for all but the heaviest of us.
The fuelling is electronic and the bike has six speeds and a heathy 21 litre fuel capacity which offers as much as a 500km range.
While the bike, and it’s siblings, promise to work well on tarmac, its construction shows a bias to the trails.
A 21 inch wheel up front with an 18” one on the rear as well as a simple steel backbone frame are complemented by a vertical TFT screen.
The screen is oriented to be reminiscent of a rally raid road book. Indeed its teeth were cut as part of the bike’s R&D in the Touareg Legend Rally.
However, the TFT screen can still mirror the rider’s smartphone.
Proven, perfectedIt’s not just the chassis and engine that have been proven.
The shape of the bike’s fairing and the balance of its fuel tank have all been perfected via some arduous desert riding.
Both ends benefit from long travel and adjustable suspension.
The tech is complemented by switchable ABS, while road riding is more than acceptable thanks to a full set of LED lights.
If you fancy it, the Rieju Aventura Rally 307 costs €6,099.
