Eoin Ó Siochrú sets sights on TT

Eoin Ó Siochrú

Having cut his racing teeth at Mondello a decade ago, Eoin Ó Siochrú now has sights firmly set on this year’s TT.

There’s just one obstacle standing in his way.

But he has a plan to overcome it, one which we think you might like.

In 2014 Eoin Ó Siochrú entered his first race, cutting his teeth in the predecessor to the Principal Insurance Masters, the Irish Superbike Championship.

Appropriately enough, the track was wet, because he took to racing it like a duck to water.

A short circuit habit then developed. An introduction to the roads followed.

After competing in the National Road Racing Championship here in Ireland he quickly progressed to riding on the ‘Island’ in the Manx GP.

For the last two years he’s raced there, earning placings at the top of the Irish competitors in his class. Now he’s getting ready to ride in the TT.

Prep talk

Eoin Ó SiochrúSo the plan is to enter the Supertwin race on an Aprilia RS660 and in the Supersport category on aTriumph 765.

Both will be raced under the Roadhouse Macau Racing banner with support from the legendary team.

The entire project is being run by top Irish road racer Brian McCormack.

The team is in the process of getting the bikes prepped, with  the 765 now putting out a touch  over 110bhp.

The only problem is that he has to fund it.

The €30,000 question

All told this is going to run him €30K. This is between fuel, tyres, bike prep and paying for race entries.

Roadhouse will be providing the Triumph, the build as well as the support of a seasoned team. Their structure is second to none.

In order to get there he has a number of sponsors. The team at Motocraft have joined the cause by donating a slot on one of their international trackday trips in August as a rather tasty prize.

Eoin Ó SiochrúThis is a three day affair at the legendary Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and it runs from August 26th-28th.

In addition to having those three days on one of the most iconic tracks in Europe, they’re also looking after accommodation and bike transport to and from Dublin.

A prize like this is worth somewhere in the region of €1,800 and can be yours to win!

Eoin is now raffling it with the objective of raising as much of that €30K as possible.

Simply wander over to Eoin’s PayPal account where you’ll find tickets for sale at €50.

They’re limited to 150 so you’re in with a great chance to win – whilst supporting one of Ireland’s most talented superbike racers!
